Pi Network App – Decide Your Pi Balance Lockup

Before transferring your Mobile Balance to the Mainnet, you can voluntarily lock up a portion of your transferable balance to mine at a higher rate later. The Mainnet transfer will not occur until you confirm the lockup configuration of your account.

Please follow the steps below to set your Pi balance lockup levels.

Send me a DM if you are having problems.

Step 1 – Open the Pi Network app and tap the menu icon

Step 2 – Tap “Mainnet” in the menu options

Step 3 – Scroll down and tap the “Configure Lockup Rate” button

Step 4 – Choose your settings from the options on the slide bars on each line. The options you select will change the mining reward boost according to which levels you select. But, if you wish to not lockup any of your balance, uncheck the orange box like shown in the 2 pics below

NOTE: For help with what to choose, please see the options notes at the end of this page below.

  • Select a level of 25%-100% on the lockup percentage line
  • Select 2 weeks – 3 years on the lockup duration line

If Selecting Options                  If not selection options uncheck the orange box

Step 5 – After you have selected your settings, go to the bottom of the screen and tap the “SAVE” button.

Finished – You should get a “Success” message that shows you that your lockup settings have been updated. NOTE: If you want to change these settings, you can do so at any time by coming back to the same screen and save your new settings.

What Settings Should I Choose???

Your decision will be based on how you desire to manage your balance according to what you want to have access to during the transfer periods.

The higher amount of your funds that are used in the lockup percentage, the higher your mining boost rate will be. The longer you hold your funds in lockup, the higher your mining boost rate will be during that time.

NOTE: You can always go into the app and change the settings at any time. But, your existing settings will last until the end of the duration period you originally had set before the change.

  • Option #1 – If you want all of your funds to be transferred to your wallet where you have full access to the “transferable” balance in your wallet after the transfer is completed, just uncheck the orange box and do not lockup any of your balance.
  • Option #2 – If you want to have a smaller part of balance remain in the mining routine for higher earnings over time, select 25% option on the lockup percentage line.
  • Option #3 – If you want to have half or all of your balance remain in the mining routine for higher earnings over time, select the 50%, 90% or 100% option on the lockup percentage line.

The lockup duration times are based on how long you want to wait before the funds become available to you in your wallet. If you want to hold funds for short period of time, select the 2 weeks. If you want to hold it for 1-3 years, select either of those options. 6 month lockup will be a 1/2 year hold.

Your Mentor’s Decision… 🙂

Me personally, I will start off with the 25% lockup and 2 weeks duration. I prefer to see how well things work with this setting before locking up long term for 1-3 years. After mining for 2-3 years already, I would like to know that I’ve already paid my dues to waiting 3 years to get my tokens… LOL
